We Have Lost A True Patriot





We have lost a true Patriot in Senator John McCain. This article was going to look a whole lot different a few days ago. I was going to lead off with all the nonsense that's going on in the world right now but all that changed yesterday when Senator McCain passed away. Senator McCain was one of a kind. I make no secret of the fact that my opinions are left leaning but Senator McCain was not so radically partisan that he couldn't find a way to reach across the aisle and work with folks that he didn't agree with. I didn't agree with him ideologically but I am filled with admiration and respect for the man. Rest well sir, you will be missed. We have lost a voice of reason in all the turmoil.

Speaking of turmoil... I literally have been trying to write this article for two or three days. Every time I was about to write the article, someone else was indicted, or granted immunity. Let's just say 45 had a really bad week last week. I refuse to call this idiot President. ESPECIALLY, now that we have just a little insight into what lengths this thug and his cronies went to in order to get him into office. This "man" sincerely believes that he's above the law. The Orange Blob with tiny baby hands must be feeling pretty lonely right about now. For someone who demands loyalty from "his people," apparently, he doesn't reciprocate OR when facing major jail time, loyalty goes out the window.

On a final note... How despicable of a "human being" do you have to be for two folks from your own political party to leave specific instructions that THEY DON'T WANT YOUR ORANGE ASS AT THEIR FUNERAL?!

Monogamy, Obamacare and Marissa Alexander

Does that seem like an odd title for a blog?  Perhaps but I am on serious information overload today!  You see, I was perusing Facebook as I often do to get material for my blog and I come across this post by Michael Baisden.  He posted a link for a video where there is a sociologist discussing the merits of sex outside of marriage.  Of course this piqued my interest but I couldn't get the damn thing to open....  Anyway, I began to ponder this concept and I touched on it briefly in my book (shameless plug you'll have to read the book).  Should we become more open-minded about the whole concept of monogamy?  How many marriages and families are destroyed by cheating, perhaps unnecessarily?  What if spicing things up meant having sex with someone who isn't your spouse or significant other?  Now this will not work for everyone but what if it works for some couples?  There needs to be open and honest dialogue between the parties involved.  The ground rules need to be established

Countdown to the Weekend

You can actually start your weekend early this Wednesday evening with Cocktails and Conversations.   This weekly event takes place at Ember.   This is a lovely venue and the atmosphere is chic and relaxing.   Are you looking for something a little more serious?   Well, Michael Baisden is going to be at Draft for a grown folks conversation.   Doors open at 5:00pm for both events.
